I still remember the day I gave my live to Christ. It was intimate. A little dramatic. In the little corner of my room, back at my parents house.
I remember feeling so light and free, like a thousand weights had just been lifted off my chest. I burned with excitement about the things I was discovering in the Bible, itching to share them with everyone on the planet🌏
But Sundays got a little sneaky.
My parents had never been in support of their children attending any church that wasn't the orthodox family church.
So I’d leave early, pretending I was heading to the first mass when really, I was slipping into a nearby Pentecostal church.
Eventually, I got a job that took me to another city. And not long after, I launched a YouTube channel to talk about Jesus. A TikTok page too, because the world had to know what I’d found.
But something unexpected happened.
God asked me to delete the YouTube channel.
At first I was a little hurt, considering how many subscribers I had already gained in so little time. But then, I understood why he asked me to let it go.
My channel was filled with things I’d claimed to know, not things I actually knew. I built my content around things I’d heard in sermons or gleaned from popular Christian YouTubers, especially the ones with lots of views.
I had no foundation in the Christian faith. No doctrinal base. Absolutely no idea what I was doing.
All I knew was: I met Jesus and now everybody must meet him too.
But something was missing.
I hadn’t realized that Christianity is not just a burst of passion. It’s a discipline. And that discipline begins with discipleship.
After Jesus called the 12 disciples, He didn't send them out right away. He spent a period of time intentionally preparing them. Teaching them about the kingdom through parables, through the miracles they witnessed, through how He responded to opposition.
They saw Him confront religious leaders, show compassion to the broken, and navigate diverse situations. Only after all that did He give them authority to go out and do the same.
Even then, He was strategic. He didn’t send them to the nations immediately. He started with the lost sheep of Israel. He took it one step at a time.
Jesus wanted them to deeply understand the message first before preaching it. (Luke 5-9)
And it’s the same for us.
We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to proclaim this great news of the kingdom to all the nations. But as exciting as that sounds, excitement is not enough.
In this age where knowledge is everywhere, God still requires preparation. He desires that we be equipped, trained, grounded.
God requires that we be discipled📚
That starts by being planted in a local church, signing up for foundation classes (or whatever it’s called where you are), showing up consistently, and staying in fellowship with the body.
Rebuke that demon that says “You don't need to go to church, you can just read your Bible at home”
Rebuke it in the name of Jesus.
Refuse to be governed by the belief systems of this “woke” age.
God gave us pastors after his heart, for the building of His church and the growth of the saints.
and I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
—Jeremiah 3:15 KJV
So yeah, my YouTube was gone, but I gained far more than subscribers.
I gained solid ground beneath me. I found covering, a new community, and family of faith to walk with. Not just in theory, but in everyday life and experiences.
And hey, And if life kept you from church today, don’t beat yourself up. I have faith that next week you’ll walk in stronger and more prepared.
Just don’t forget:
The harvest is great.
So stay burning for Jesus while he prepares you to be sent out to the nations.
Here's a song I couldn't keep to myself🎧;

Waw…! Ahbiee, thank you for this. But I miss 😢😢that new baby euphoria where it feels you can move mountains by just thinking about it. Now you have to speak 🗣️ to the mountains and pray for days ☹️
